RED Earth Opera, the critically-acclaimed South Devon-based opera company, will be staging performances of Mozart’s La Clemenza di Tito, sung in English, at Chudleigh Parish Church on Sunday, October 8 at 7.30pm.

The opera was founded in 2013 by local conductor, singer and music teacher Jane Anderson-Brown, who was keen to make use of the considerable local musical talent available. Several of the choir are from the Teignbridge area.

By combining these singers and players with soloists, who are a mix of seasoned singers and young artists, audiences are given the opportunity to see and hear some of the stars of the future.

This is the fourth opera production by this company, and soloists from past performances have already gone on to win international singing prizes and appear with such well-regarded companies as Garsington Opera, Grange Park Opera, Longborough Festival Opera and Opera de Bauge.

La Clemenza di Tito is Mozart’s last opera, and one of his finest. Its themes of jealousy, betrayal and forgiveness are still as relevant as ever.

Red Earth Opera’s production will include soloists, orchestra and full chorus and will be semi-staged.
