St Mary’s Church at Ideford is holding a Christmas Tree Festival from tomorrow, December 19 to 22.
The church will be festooned with trees decorated by local community groups, including the Ideford bell ringers and Bishopsteignton School.
On December 22 there’ll also be entertainment including festive poetry readings, table decoration demonstration, carol singing and hot chestnuts.
All proceeds and donations will go towards the upkeep of the church.
The festival is open December 19 to 21, from 4pm to 7pm, and December 22 from 11am to 5pm.
On the day before the festival begins children under 12, with their parents and grandparents, are invited to a ‘messy church’ workshop to make decorations and lanterns for the festival.
Organiser Liz Rice said: ‘Messy church is where children and adults have fun together in creativity, celebration and hospitality’.
The workshop is on December 18, from 4pm to 5.30pm. Contact Liz at [email protected] to attend.
