Christmas comes but once a year, unless you are in Kingsteignton when you can celebrate in July as well.
Kingsteignton United Reformed Church is hosting a Christmas in July event at 3pm on Saturday July 20 with carols, readings and a party with mince pies and all the trimmings. Children can also take part in a Christmas card competition.
Organised by Kingsteignton United Reformed Church ,and open to all, the festivities are aimed at raising funds for Kingsteignton Swimming Pool.
‘We don’t actually know the real date of Christmas; it’s not necessarily December 25,’ said Kingsteignton United Reform Church Secretary Catherine Harris. ‘The shepherds would not have been out in the fields in the middle of winter,’ she noted.
‘Lots of people are ill in December, so it’s a chance for everyone to enjoy the festivities without worrying about going out in the cold,’ Catherine added.
