The howling wind outside was no match for the voices of the Teign Choral Society on Friday evening (December 6) at its annual carol concert in support of Teignmouth Hospital League of Friends.
St James Church Teignmouth played host to an eclectic mix including African and spiritual, traditional carols and the Vaughan Williams Fantasia medley. Conductor Peter Bowles ably led the 30 singers through the programme of solos and choral performances interspersed with readings and opportunities for the audience to participate.
Celebrating her 96th birthday, League of Friends president Freda Welton urged everyone to continue supporting the hospital saying that she hopes the Secretary of State will agree that the community’s health desperately needs Teignmouth Hospital to be operational.
Wine and mince pies were served to end a joyful evening of celebration.
