LOCAL charity Animals in Distress has received a £600 donation and bundle of fifty toys from interactive dog toy company Tug-E-Nuff, to help with its efforts to improve the lives of the animals in its care.
Based at Ipplepen, Animals in Distress is a local animal welfare charity that came into being back in 1981. It now takes in, cares for and re-homes hundreds of stray, abandoned, or unwanted cats, dogs, rabbits and guinea pigs every year
The money was fundraised by Tug-E-Nuff - which also has its headquarters in the south west - as part of its 15th anniversary campaign to recognise and give back to all the charities, businesses, and dog owners and professionals across the region enriching the lives of dogs.
Clare Meir, Community and Events Fundraiser at Animals in Distress said: “We are absolutely delighted to be working with Tug-E-Nuff, and we are so grateful for all their ongoing support.
“The wonderful toys they have also donated are providing incredible enrichment for the dogs in our care while they wait to find their forever homes.”
Clare added that the donation from Tug-E-Nuff will make a real difference in allowing Animals In Distress to continue rescuing and rehoming the vulnerable animals in its care.
Danny Nelis-Rouse, co-owner at Tug-E-Nuff, added: “We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate our 15th year than by recognising and giving back to the people and organisations which, like Tug-E-Nuff, are passionate about giving animals the best chance of a happy life.
“We hope our donation has a real impact in supporting Animals In Distress with the brilliant work it does, especially following an exceptionally tough year for fundraising and managing care required to keep not only dogs, but all animals fit, well and healthy.”
