BRITAIN’S Got Talent judge Simon Cowell stormed off stage during an Ashburton ventriloquist’s semi-final performance last night.
Jimmy Tamley, better known locally as Jungle Jim, pulled out all the stops in a bid to reach the ITV talent show’s grand final.
He dragged music mogul Simon and judge David Walliams on to the stage and kitted them out with special masks so he could control what the famous pair say.
The 64-year-old ventriloquist encouraged Simon to dance the Can-Can alongside Little Britain star David, but the spoil sport quit the stage in a rage. He eventually returned looking very sullen.
Hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly spoke to dad-of-five Jimmy before announcing the results of the semi-finals.
Dec said: ‘Where shall we start? Jimmy, maybe with you? It was less of the case of can-can, more can’t-can’t, more won’t-won’t.’
Jimmy retorted: ‘You’re telling me. That’s the first time in my career the dummy has actually walked off stage by himself.’
Dec hit back: ‘That is no way talk about Simon.’
But Jimmy defended: ‘No it is! He made a dummy of himself, not me.’
Viewers didn’t back Jimmy in the public vote and he failed to make it through to this weekend’s final.
