IT was an especially busy Thursday on April 20 for Bovey Tracey's firefighters.
Throughout the day the town's crew was mobilised to as many as three incidents.
A mobile phone crash detection system prompted emergency services to a road traffic collision (RTC) in the Doccombe area.
The great and the good from Bovey were joined with their colleagues from Chagford Fire Station, who were first on the scene and ensured all person were free from the over-turned vehicle.
It was not so far a travel for the second shout of the day: a report of a fence on fire but may well have burned out.
Upon arrival, crews made access to the garden and carried out an inspection of the area using small tools and a thermal imaging camera.
The cause of the fire is believed to be a glass ornament that heated up in the sun; the ornament then cracked sending shards of hot glass onto wood chipping and parts of the fence.
A spokesman for Bovey Tracey Fire Station said: 'Reflected glass and mirrors have caused domestic and heathland fires in our area before so please take the time now to ensure that anything that can reflect sunlight is safely secured and away from combustible materials.'
The final call of the day saw firefighters venture to Heathfield due to alarms activating.
Using a thermal imaging camera, crews carried out an inspection and, finding no sign of fire, ensured the building was secure before returning to the station in hast.
