A PAIR of brothers have been remanded in custody by a Crown Court judge accused of the murder who was allegedly stabbed to death in Torquay on Sunday.
Jack Milton, aged 19, and his brother Ben Milton, aged 18, both of Ellacombe Church Road, Torquay, appeared in the dock separately at Exeter Crown Court but were not asked to enter pleas.
Judge Robert Linford, who appeared by video link from Truro Crown Court, adjourned both cases to a plea and trial preparation hearing at Exeter October 27 this year.
He set a provisional trial date of March 18 next year. There were no applications for bail and both defendants were remanded in custody.
They are both accused of the murder of 34-year-old Aaron Parrington who died after allegedly being stabbed in Ellacombe Church Road. The incident led to the area being sealed off by police and the air ambulance landing near the scene.
Mr Parrington’s family have paid tribute to him in a statement issued through the police. It said: “He was a loved father and son, who will be greatly missed. Although we are grateful for the support, we would ask that you respect our privacy at this time.”
