A BODY was recovered from Dartmoor yesterday, Tuesday, June 12.

The Ashburton outfit of Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team (DSRT) were called in to assist other emergency service personnel with the recovery of a deceased individual.

Utilising a four-by-four vehicle, the team made their way to a moorland location between Haytor and Black Hill just after 11am.

The body was then brought to a land ambulance waiting at a nearby car park, whereupon the DSRT stood down.

‘Seven of our volunteers were involved in this incident’ a spokesperson for DSRT said.

‘Our thoughts are with the friends and family of the individual’ they added.
