A BOVEY Tracey girl has reached the finals of a national writing competition that attracted 120,000 entries.
Nine-year-old Bethan Shuttleworth made the top 50 in BBC Radio 2's 500 Words hosted by breakfast DJ Chris Evans.
The Bovey Tracey Primary School pupil goes to London later this month to find out if she is one of the winners to be announced and interviewed live on air.
Her story, A Robin's Tale, was inspired by events close to home.
'I first wrote the story for my Nana who asked me for a story about a robin with a happy ending,' she said.
