Artists in Ashburton are to open their studios for a new art trail taking place between May 31 and June 2.
Featuring the work of 27 artists, the Ashburton Artists and Artisans walking trail will enable visitors to meet the makers in their quirky places of work, while exploring the town.
The trail includes a studio opened in memory of pastel artist Tom Walker who sadly died after signing up to take part in the trail.
‘All those taking part are rooted in the culture of this Dartmoor town and include painters, ceramicists, printers, textile artists, jewellers, photographers, sculptors and others who defy definition,’ a spokesperson said.
Ashburton Artists and Artisans was set up by potter and glass maker Sylvie Nicholls to promote artists and crafts in Ashburton through exhibitions, markets, and events. The organisation has already held successful craft markets in the town, which is seeking to establish itself as a vibrant cultural destination.
