vandals have destroyed a telephone box in Canada Hill, East Ogwell which residents used as their 'library'.
An arson attack saw the telephone box left a burnt-out shell and more than 100 books go up in flames.
The blaze, late on Wednesday night last week, was tackled by Newton Abbot firefighters.
The old red box, no longer used by BT, was purchased by the Ogwell Parish Council for a nominal sum around five months ago to preserve part of the heritage of the village.
