THE team from one of Devon's leading independent record shops are hard at work getting the place ready for Record Store Day, which takes place tomorrow, Saturday, April 22.

Opening its doors at 8am sharp, Phoenix Sound, Newton Abbot's premier record shop, closed early today, Friday, April 21, so that the team, lead by Roger and Marsha, could get everything in order for the big day.

Record Store Day sees the more than 250 independent record stores up and down the country come together to celebrate the unique culture of which they are all a part.

Special vinyl releases are made for the day, and many of the partaking stores will host live music to further mark the occasion.
