FAMILIES are invited to embark on a memorable journey along the beautiful River Dart and take part in the exclusive Explorer Express adventure at the South Devon Railway (SDR) this August.
And the best bit? Children go free between August 1 and 10.
Children can pick up their explorer sheet from the ticket office and answer six questions along their journey.
Once completed, they can drop their sheets in the post box at the ticket office for a chance to win a Freight Train Experience for four people, valid until the end of the year.
Plus, every Friday during the Explorer Trail, one lucky winner will be chosen at random to win a Family Ticket (2 adults and 2 children), valid for 12 months.
The multi-award-winning South Devon Railway is one of Devon’s and the West Country’s best-loved tourist attractions.
Celebrating more than 50 years in preservation, it is the longest established steam railway in the southwest.
The SDR is a seven-mile former Great Western Railway branch line, built in 1872, which runs along the stunning valley of the River Dart between Buckfastleigh and Totnes.
Visitors will be captivated by the scenic beauty and historical charm of this heritage railway. It's the perfect family outing, offering a unique blend of adventure, education, and nostalgia.
To take advantage of the free travel offer for kids, simply quote the discount code 'Summer24' when booking online or at the ticket office.
This offer is valid on full line Return and Ranger tickets when booked with a fee-paying adult or senior ticket.
The promotion is only valid from 1st to 10th August 2024. For full terms and conditions, visit South Devon Railway.
