Newton Abbot’s Body Shop branch is to shut, it has been confirmed. 

Administrators have announced a list of wide scale company closures since being appointed by the company’s owners. 

Seven stores, mostly in London, closed with immediate effect several days ago. 

Now almost half of the UK’s 198 stores will shut and the number of staff in its head office is expected to reduce by about 40 per cent, down to 400 full time employees.

The business announced it entered administration last week but said it will continue to trade both in-store and online while plans are made for the future of the high street brand.

No date has been given for the Newton Abbot store’s closure.
