TWO women escaped serious injury when their cars were involved in separate accidents at the same spot outside Ideford early today.

One car was involved in an accident at about 12.20am - and moments later another collided with the vehicle and ended up on its roof.

The driver of the second car was treated at the scene for shock by paramedics.

The accidents happened on the A380 between Ashcombe and Ideford.

Lane two of the Newton Abbot-bound carriageway was blocked while the crash scene was cleared.

The cars involved were a silver Fiat Ibiza hatchback and a black Ford Focus.
