A WOODEN beam caught alight at a property in Littlehempston last night.

Firefighters were called out at 8.40pm to deal with a chimney blaze – but closer inspection revealed that a beam above the wood burning stove was the offender.

Sections of the beam were cut away to prevent the fire spreading.

A thermal imaging camera was used to make sure the fire was extinguished.
