THREE vehicles have been destroyed after a fire in Ipplepen.
Devon and Somerset Fire Service were called to a report of vehicles on fire at a business premises on Ipplepen’s Wrigwell Estate just before 5am today (Saturday)
A fire service spokesman said: " Initially we sent two fire appliances from Torquay and Paignton stations to the location."
"However, when the first crews arrived on the scene they confirmed several vehicles and one building were well alight and a third pump from Newton Abbot plus a water bowser from Torquay were tasked to the scene."
"We managed to extinguished the fire using one hose reel jet, two main jets and the use of the water bowser."
The fire involved six vehicles in total, with three being completely destroyed by fire and three damaged by fire. The corner of an industrial unit was also damaged causing 10% fire damage and 30% by smoke.
The cause of the fire was deliberate and police are now investigating.
