A MAN was airlifted to hospital with serious leg injuries earlier today (Saturday) following a collision with a vehicle on the A380 near Penn Inn.
Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene in Newton Abbot at just before 05.30 this morning following reports that a male pedestrian and a car had been in collision.
According to Devon and Cornwall Police other road users had stopped to assist the casualty who was conscious but suffering from a serious leg injury.He was later flown by the Devon Air Ambulance to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.
The A380 was closed south-bound from the Ware Barton junction for most of the morning while police accident investigators carried out an examination of the scene.
