RUSH-HOUR traffic between Newton Abbot and Exeter suffered lengthy delays this morning after a lorry collided with the car on the A380 near Ashcombe.

This morning’s (Tuesday) accident happened just before 8.30am on the Exeter-bound carriageway not far from the Teignmouth turn-off.

At one point queues of traffic extended back to Ideford Dip.

Police, who attended the scene, said one lane was blocked while both vehicles were recovered.

A spokesman said minor injuries were suffered by those involved in the collision.

Both damaged vehicles were recovered more than an hour after the crash.
