MOTORISTS are being reminded by police in Teignmouth to lock their vehicles after a gang of men were spotted trying car door handles in the resort.

Officers were alerted on Sunday when a couple saw about half-a-dozen men tampering with doors in Higher Brimley in the early afternoon.

An officer from Teignmouth and Dawlish Neighbourhood Police was on foot patrol in Higher Brimley when he received a report from a couple detailing the gang’s furtive attempts.

The suspects fled when they were spotted.

A police spokesman urged all drivers to make sure they left vehicles secure and kept their belongings out of sight and reach of opportunist theives.
