A TOURING caravan was destroyed in a layby fire at Liverton early today.

Firefighters from Bovey Tracey were called to the scene near Blackpool Primary School just after 6.30am.

Two sets of breathing gear were worn as the crew used two hosereel jets to extinguish the roadside blaze.

A fire spokesman said: ‘The caravan was well alight when we arrived. It was 100 per cent damaged by fire.’
