A HORSE was rescued after falling into a water-filled ditch on Dartmoor yesterday.
A fire crew from Moretonhampstead together with a specialist team from Plymouth dealt with the drama at Mill Farm, Manaton.
They were called to the location just before 1pm after the horse could not get up on all fours.
A telehandler machine from fire headquarters near Exeter was also drafted in to help with the operation.
General purpose lines, a salvage sheet and small tools were used by firefighters in dry suits to recover the stranded animal.
The rescued horse was left in the hands of a local vet for treatment.
