AN ELDERLY couple escaped unharmed after their crashed car ended up hazardously perched on top of a hedge outside Moretonhampstead.
Three fire crews used their specialist skills to make the vehicle safe and recover the couple late on Friday afternoon.
The accident happened at Cossick Cross on the road to Dunsford just after 4pm.
No other vehicles were involved.
A fire spokesman said: ‘Crews got to work stabilising the vehicle as it was balanced precariously on the hedge. The two occupants were uninjured, but were assessed by paramedics.’
He said colleagues used a winch, lines and small tools to make the vehicle safe and ensure the couple were able to get out safely.
Police also attended the scene.
Fire crews responding were from Chagford, Bovey Tracey and Exeter.
