WIRE cables and a window sill were damaged in a fire at a property in Combeinteignhead on New Year’s Day.

Fire crews from Bovey Tracey, Newton Abbot and Torquay dealt with the incident on the road from Cross Park to Coombe Cottage just after 12.30pm.

A fire spokesman said about 20 per cent of the property’s first floor suffered smoke damage.
