A CAR was totally destroyed in a fire at Postbridge that spread to the hedgerow yesterday afternoon (Tuesday).

One fire crew from Chagford and one from Yelverton, were sent to the report of a car fire.

A Fire control spokesperson said: ‘On arrival crews confirmed this car was well alight and the fire had spread to hedgerow.

‘Crews extinguished the fire using four breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and one foam jet.

‘The cause of the fire was accidental and the car was totally destroyed by the fire.’
