A MOTORCYCLIST who came off his bike managed to escape with only minor head injuries on Dartmoor on Saturday.
An air and a land ambulance were called to the scene on the scenic stretch of road between Moretonhampstead and the Warren House Inn, which was closed in both directions as crews treated the injured man.
The motorcyclist sustained a head injury, which was not believed to be serious, and was taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.
Motorists were advised to find alternative routes to get to their locations, causing a number of small pinch-point traffic jams on narrow country lanes nearby.
A spokesman for South West Ambulance Service said: ‘We responded to a call received on Saturday at 2.12pm about an incident involving a motorcyclist on the B3212 near Lettaford, Dartmoor.
‘We sent a land ambulance crew and an air ambulance crew to attend the incident.
‘They treated a male patient and transported him to hospital by land.’
