SOME 40 Newton Abbot homeowners are sitting in darkness this morning following major downpours of snow and strong winds.

Power supplies are down in 37 properties around the Bradley Barton area of the town and aren’t expected to be restored until 2pm.

A spokesman for Western Power Distribution revealed the power went down just before 8.15am this morning.
