A TRACTOR caught fire on the Ashburton road from Newton Abbot.
Newton Abbot Fire Station has released this picture of the tractor in flames.
Both crews from Newton Abbot Fire Station were sent to reports of a large vehicle fire on the Ashburton road at 7pm on Wednesday evening.
On their Facebook page the firefighters say: ‘On arrival, crews confirmed that an agricultural tractor was alight with smoke and flames issuing from the engine compartment.
‘Crews quickly got to work extinguishing the fire.
‘Crews deployed two firefighters wearing BA (Breathing Apparatus) taking with them two hose reel jets to tackle the fire.
‘The water bowser from Torquay fire station was also mobilised to support our crews with a steady water supply.
‘The incident was swiftly brought under control, and all crews returned back to station following the incident.’
