TEIGNBRIDGE District Council (TDC) have received initial feedback from the Government on the interim local government reorganisation (LGR) proposal it submitted.

The proposal was submitted jointly with six other district councils in March.

The response form Government says that councils are encouraged to continue building strong partnerships, particularly around data sharing and joint evidence bases. Councils also need to ensure that they include robust data, financial assessments and clear justification for the chosen option.

‘We will consider the feedback and continue to work closely with other councils before final proposals are submitted in November’ a spokesperson for TDC said

‘As part of that work, we will also be engaging with residents, businesses and key partners to hear their views on LGR for Devon.

‘We'll share more information on those plans in the coming months’ the spokesperson added.
